Songwriting/Production
I'm currently playing with a band that's in the process of rehearsing and recording an album of my original music. This is a rough recording from one of our rehearsals of the song "Always Lost", which I wrote just this past summer.
This is a song I wrote and produced with my friend Karissa Bone last year. We got together to write something for a class and this song came together in about 15 minutes. What I love about this song is its simplicity musically and lyrically, as well as how our voices work together.
Recording and mixing other bands/artists is also something I really enjoy. This is a song by Ann Arbor psych-rock band Leery Loons that I had a hand in recording/mixing.
G-men Performances
As I've mentioned, being in my a cappella group The G-men is very important to me. As the music director and arranger, it's a great form of creative release and self-expression. But most importantly, this group has brought me lifelong friends and memories.
This performance is particularly important to me because it advanced us to the final round of the ICCA competition last year. We got to travel to New York City and compete, which is something I'll never forget.
This is a performance of my arrangement of the Kid Cudi song "Day N' Nite". I think this is one of our best performances of this song because of how much we engaged the audience in what we were singing.
